ecca.edu and ULL launch Aula Abierta with four online courses and ECTS credits
1. Key points
The agreement between ecca.edu and ULL begins with four university extension courses.
Each course is delivered online and carries official recognition of 3 ECTS credits.
The first edition focuses on socio-educational, health and dependent-care training areas.
2. The news in detail
ecca.edu and the University of La Laguna have formalised a partnership to launch Aula Abierta ecca-ULL, an online training programme for adult learners. The initiative sits within university extension and brings together ecca.edu's educational model with ULL academic certification.
The programme was presented at the University of La Laguna rectorate after the agreement was signed by ecca.edu director general Gorety Almeida and rector Francisco J. García. Representatives from ecca.edu's education team and ULL's Culture and University Extension area also attended.
The initial offer includes four courses: physical abilities and first aid for dependent people at home, child health, the socio-educational value of play, and communication and observation with dependent people and their environment. All are online and carry 3 ECTS credits.
3. Voices and statements
The institutions present the programme as an open route to broaden training opportunities in the Canary Islands.
4. Context and background
The agreement was presented on 7 September 2026 in San Cristóbal de La Laguna. Enrolment is open and can be completed until 31 January 2027 through the official ecca.edu website.
5. What it means for Fuerteventura
For Fuerteventura and the wider archipelago, the online format helps adult learners access training without relying on travel. ecca.edu also points to its presence across the eight islands and its long experience in distance education, which matters for people seeking flexible qualifications.
