ecca.edu resumes free support classes for Canary Islands ESO pupils
1. Key points
The initiative is aimed at pupils in three ESO year groups across the Canary Islands public-school network.
La Gomera will be served online, while the other islands will also offer in-person teaching.
Places are limited and booking is already available through the ecca.edu website.
2. The news in detail
The project provides support in Spanish Language and Literature and in Mathematics from the start of the school year. It covers pupils in the second, third and fourth years of compulsory secondary education who attend public schools in the Canary Islands.
The programme combines sessions with specialist teachers and short digital learning resources. According to information released by ecca.edu, support is adapted to each participant's pace and can be followed in person or remotely, subject to the stated arrangement for La Gomera.
The organisation describes this new edition as an inclusive education measure designed to help pupils remain engaged with school. The regional department responsible for education, vocational training, physical activity and sport backs the programme.
3. Voices and statements
The support is intended to help pupils tackle Spanish and Mathematics with teacher guidance from the opening weeks of the school year.
4. Context and background
The return was announced in the Canary Islands on 14 September 2026. Teaching will be available in person and online across the archipelago, while La Gomera will be served exclusively online.
5. What it means for Fuerteventura
Free access and the two delivery formats reduce financial and geographical barriers for families. ecca.edu frames the institutional partnership as an effort to prevent pupils from disengaging early and to provide continuing support throughout the school year.
