Fuerteventura's surfing dog at Boneyard
Meet Mr. Janssen, the surfing dog of the Hotzone surf school, riding the waves at Boneyard in Fuerteventura on a great day with Oscar. Enjoy this unique experience!
Boneyard (also known as La Caleta) is one of the classic reef breaks on the north shore of Fuerteventura, between Corralejo and Majanicho. It works best in winter, when lighter winds and north-westerly swells line up clean, peeling waves, and it is a firm favourite among the island's surf schools and experienced surfers.
This stretch of coast is the heart of Fuerteventura's surf scene: dozens of reef and beach breaks within a short drive of Corralejo, warm water year-round and steady Atlantic swell. Whether you are a beginner taking a first lesson or an experienced surfer chasing the reefs, the north of the island is one of Europe's most reliable surf destinations, as even a wave-riding dog can prove.
