For the last month we have been calling to the surfers and the schools of the island that live for surfing to partecipate to the No oil Surf Fuerteventura event.

It's cold and many of them have found reason not to come. We are at the beach of Corralejo and we are about to attend amusing imitation while painting faces with chocolate syrup, nevertheless it will freeze our blood.

We started 2015 with the echo of the news that Repsol will be. So it is the best time to make a big impulse to fight against the oil in the Canaries and take the first step towards a future in which renewable energy sources prevail. Especially because the danger of Repsol's further follow remains latent for years. It continues to have permission to drill at sea.
It is not the only part of the world where the graves are digged for our children's future. So we applaud and give THANKS to a group that has come to the beach to defend your interests, your business, your food and your waves. As the surf champion Kelly Slater once said: "I think that when an individual becomes a surfer, it is almost like an obligation to be an environmentalist at the same time". Look at those guys who are shivering out of the cold water and admire them. Together with us there are those who could not come because they are working, those who are caring for their families and those who will join us in future.
