"Nella costa africana vive nel arcipelago delle Isole Canarie un popolo millenario carico di storia, già conosciuta dalla vecchia Europa nel periodo classico di greci e romani come "Il giardino delle Esperidi" o "Isole fortunate"...Il suo clima, la sua bellezza, il suo ambiente unico, gli ha dato fama a livello internazionale, essendo un riferimento turistico. La sua gente amante del suo medioambiente e il loro mare hanno visto poco a poco come il governo spagnolo ha venduto il suo presente e futuro ambientale a una multinazionale del petrolio, e con questa vendita commerciale improvvisamente tutto è messo a rischio. Tutto il suo mondo ora e' instabile, insicuro... La società protestato, manifesto', Si orgganizzo e denuncio' tutto ma al governo spagnolo non importava e disprezza l'opinione delle loro istituzioni insulari e la società unita nel rifiuto. Questa società Canaria che credeva di vivere in piena democrazia non poteva esercitare la sua volontà per una legge esterna che gli impediva di decidere il presente e il futuro della loro terra."
